The prettiest puzzles supporting female artists

Prints in Pieces puzzles lets you piece together amazing works by artists and illustrators

Who

are Prints in Pieces Puzzles?

Prints in Pieces was born during the 2020 pandemic, with puzzles becoming a go-to activity to unplug and do something other than endlessly stare at our screens. However, it became apparent to Founder Sandra that puzzles hadn’t evolved much since she was a kid. Being uninspired by the puzzle designs out there, Sandra thought she’d shake it up by working with amazing artists and illustrators to bring their work to life in a whole new way.

Why

did Sandra start Prints in Pieces Puzzles?

Sandra: “Like many, I rediscovered my love for puzzles during lockdown in early 2020. They became a form of escape for me from the endless screen time that life was suddenly revolving around. But it struck me pretty quickly how little jigsaw puzzles had evolved since I was a kid – the designs were, frankly, outdated and boring. I’d already been following quite a few talented artists on Instagram so that’s where it hit me – why not bring these two worlds together, help give artists another platform to share their work and create jigsaw puzzles that are literal works of art. Something that people can enjoy from a mindfulness perspective and then once complete, glue together and hang on the wall like the artwork that they are.”

How

do the puzzles support women artists?

Sandra: “We license artworks from up-and-coming female artists around the world, from a variety of backgrounds. Our aim is to provide them with another platform to showcase their work and bring them a new audience of people, who may not normally have come across their work organically on a place like Instagram.”

What

other activities has Sandra been enjoying in lockdown?

Sandra: “Honestly, doing lots of puzzles and running this business have given me so much to focus on throughout lockdown. Especially when it comes to the creative elements like taking lots of product imagery and building up the brand on Instagram. But aside from those things, I've definitely also done a lot more baking than usual (including the classic banana bread of course!) and have enjoyed going on lots of walks to keep my step count from looking abysmal.”
