is Maia Faddoul?
Maia Faddoul is a first-generation Canadian, working as an illustrator and designer in Montreal. She loves creating empowering, bright, and colourful imagery, often portraying important messages about difficult topics and social issues through her work.
Why
did Maia first get into illustration?
Maia: “Like most illustrators, I'd always been a creative kid. My abuelo was a commercial illustrator in Argentina and I was fascinated by that career. After high school I studied illustration in Montreal, then went on to get my Bachelor's in Design.”

artists have inspired Maia’s creative practice?
Maia: “I always love fellow illustrator Iliana Galvez's (@GrowMija) bold illustrations featuring latinas, I'm also obsessed with Meg Lewis's (@yourbuddymeg) silly and hilarious approach to design and visual creation. Lastly I really enjoy the gritty and painterly illustrations of Thai illustrator Ping Hatta (@pinghatta).”
